A story is a story is a Most of the submissions we received for this first issue were “shortstories,” i.e. fiction. Of course, our mission statement and
submission guidelines outline many alternative storytelling options: grocery store receipts, overheard conversations, songs in the shower. A friend of mine told me, “I’m glad you asked me to submit, because otherwise I would have thought you only wanted fiction.” This, because I suggested she submit a poem. I started feeling worried.
