Sarah Heller's work has appeared in RealPoetik, Painted Bride Quarterly, Pembroke Magazine, NextBook, Lady Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet, The Tule Review, The Apocalypse Anthology (Flying Guilliotine Press), Literary Companion to Shabbat (NextBook Press), and other literary journals. She was the recipient of the Nadya Aisenberg Fellowship at the MacDowell Colony for 2005–2006, and has received fellowships or awards from the Drisha Institute, MacDowell Colony, Virginia Council for the Creative Arts, Centre D’Art I Natura (Spain), Vermont Studio Center, and Soul Mountain Retreat. She teaches Creative Writing at Rutgers University.
