| Excerpt from Misdirected Postcard, One by Rebecca Keith |
Oh Miss Jenelly,
Me to you from Portland. You’re so Brooklyn now— queen
of Lorimer. I love it. It’s daffodil time in Oregon, rows and rows
pressed like bodies on the subway. Now you’re just another girl
on the IRT. Is that right? You miss me? Wish I was there— NYC
in the summer is so great. To Europe tomorrow. First stop: Sweden.
I’m so excited. Will you meet me
like you said you would? Two weeks from now we’ll hit the boardwalk,
splinter-slabs and sticky cotton candy fingers, beer between our toes
and sand. You can shoot me, I’ll be your freak. Anyways, July 19—
Coney Island, it’s on.
